CABINET COUNCIL FOR CAREER & TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION
Governor established Cabinet Council for Career and Technology Education in 1993 (Executive Order 01.01.1993.05). Council was to set strategic direction for a system of career and technology education that met business needs, was based on competency, and focused on measurable outcomes. Council coordinated planning for career and technology education by State Department of Education, Maryland Higher Education Commission, and Department of Business and Economic Development. To further career and technology education in Maryland, Council worked to ensure that departmental, legislative and budgetary recommendations of these agencies reflected a sharing of resources and plans.

Chaired by State Superintendent of Schools, Council had three ex officio members.

Last met in 2002.

In May 2016, authorization for Cabinet Council was rescinded (Executive Order 01.01.2016.06).

The Interagency Licensing Committee began as the Licensing Policy Board created by the Subcabinet for Children, Youth, and Families in 1991. In 1998, it combined with the Resource Development Committee to form the Resource Development and Licensing Committee. The Children's Cabinet restructured the Committee under its present name in December 2009.

The Committee's goal was to provide a complete system of services for children that ensures their safety and assists their families, preferably without removing them from their homes. The Committee focused on the coordination of the licensing and monitoring process for group homes licensed by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Department of Human Resources, and the Department of Juvenile Services.

When children have been committed to the care of a local department of social services or through the courts, to the Department of Juvenile Services, they require a variety of services. Children placed in residential programs also have special social, educational, developmental or medical needs. The Committee identified what services children might require and determined how the State can best provide those services. Assistance may include prenatal care, parenting education, medical care, family and individual counseling, mentoring, tutoring, dropout intervention, and recreation and enrichment. It also may address problems of substance abuse, domestic violence, and poverty.

Last met in May 2015; disbanded by Children's Cabinet.
